WE ARE GONNA ALSO READ ABOUT THE BURIAL PRACTICE OD ANCIENT TIMES. --> Vedas: -- The oldest books are "Vedas". -- There are four vedas – the Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda and Atharvaveda. -- The oldest Veda is the Rigveda, composed about 3500 years ago. The Rigveda includes  thousand hymns, called sukta or “well-said”. -- These hymns are in praise of various gods and goddesses. Three gods are especially important:  Agni, the god of fire; Indra, a warrior god; and Soma, a plant from which a special drink was prepared. -- These hymns were composed by sages (rishis).  -- Most of the hymns were composed, taught and learnt by men. -- A few were composed by women. The Rigveda is in old or Vedic Sanskrit.

NCERT Class 6 History notes Chapter 4- "IN THE EARLIEST CITIES" In this chapter 4 of NCERT we are gonna read about the cities of early times. At that  some places before eighty years, expedition took place and archaeologists found the site, and realised that this was one of the oldest cities in the subcontinent. As this was the first city to be discovered, all other sites from where similar buildings (and other things) were found were described as Harappan. :-  About these cities :  -- These cities developed about 4700 years ago. -- Many of these cities were divided into two or more parts. The west part is smaller but higher called as citadel and the part to the east was larger but lower is simple town. -- The bricks were lasted for thousands of years. The bricks were used in an interlocking pattern and that made the walls strong. -- In some cities, special buildings were constructed on the citadel. For example, in Mohenjodaro , a very spec
