How should I prepare English for competitive exam?

English language is very important language as it gives us an opportunity to communicate with global citizens as well as for any exam and it is important for scoring good marks in any competitive exam as well. English is not a subject like history or geography that you learn or memorize but you can practice it daily same as Hindi. If you want to prepare a subject for any exam, first of all go through the syllabus. For English syllabus is almost same for every exam.

  • Grammar part: - for this you must clear your basics from any good book {10th level}, YouTube videos or by reading or following my blog.




  • Vocabulary: - There are a lot of words you can’t remember so, the best way is to connect the vocab into your sentence so you get maximum understanding. If you work on your vocabulary then you can easily solve different questions related with antonyms, synonyms, one word substitution, spelling errors, phrasal verbs etc.

      To expand your vocabulary: -
  • Make habit of reading any good English newspaper.
  • Read, read, and read different novels, books even hoardings and advertisement so by this means you can increase your vocabulary day by day.
  • You can also check out my previous blogs for Basic English words to start.
  • Learn at least 4 words a day, so you can learn 100+ words just in a month.

  • Comprehension: - It includes reading comprehension, close test, arrangement of sentences.  If you want to improve your comprehension skills then just read, read and read. But when you are reading your reading should be effective.

 
  • Miscellaneous: - It includes narration, voice and cloze test. Generally people are afraid of this topic but there is nothing to fear about if your funda’s are clear then you can easily solve this section.

  •       Practice with previous year question papers.
  •       Learn grammar rules and concepts no rote learning.
